One or two iPad 3 models?

New iPad rumors recently come from Tuaw and indicate the possibility of two iPad 3 models: the 3,1 and the 3,2.
The two models could be part of a strategy to introduce the iPad 3 with a price reduction (as a  way to compete with the increasing number of android tablets in the market). For the most heavy users, there would be another full version, more expensive and with more features.

Nanosys QDEF display technology in ipad3?

Nanosys has presented a new QDEF display that seem to have much more rich colors then actual iPad screens.
The company owns 400 patents on the display for QDEF (that stands for Quantum Dot Enhanced Film). Many iPad rumors sources hope that Nanosys will partner with Apple to use the new QDEF in iPad 3 screens, what could not be very hard to do, even if the production has already started. The CEO of Nanosys, Jason Hartlove (Nanosys), said that manufacturers can start using this technology just by simply replacing a piece of film currently in LCD production and switching to blue LED backlighting.

Amazon tablet against iPad 2 and iPad 3?

Amazon may be entering the tablet market very soon, but not with the same strategy that has been used for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Motorola Xoom. These devices tried to offer the same specs and prices of Apple iPad 2.
The iPad rumors related to Amazon say that it may start with much lower prices, even it involves loosing some money on the start. Their tablet will probably run an Android operating system, maybe Honeycomb and have an entry price of $300.
If it really happens, it could really increase competition in the tablet market.

A4, A5 or A6 iPad 3 rumor processor

Samsung is still on the heart of iPad, iPhone, and iPod – she is the only producer of the current Apple processors A4 and A5.
But that may change with the A6 – according to reports by Digitimes, Siliconware  Precision Industries (SPIL) may be getting orders from Apple for the A6. Now, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is now producing them. And SPIL is trying to get the packaging and testing piece of the process, that are still handled by Samsung.

Other iPad rumors sources don’t believe in a A6 processor. They say that what will probably happen is iPad 3 include a dual-core processor or even a quad-core processor, depending on the final release date is still in 2011 or only in the next year.

Cheaper version of iPad 3 with contract?

Normally, Apple don’t allow cell companies to subsidize the price of iPad 2, as it is usual with the iPhones.
But new iPad rumors, from The Daily, say that it may change with the new iPad3 and that Apple may finally assume a different position. That would allow carriers to start doing the same they usually do with smartphones and for that to subsidize the sale of the future iPad 3 thus dropping the price to something like $199, with a contract for two years.
Verizon and AT&T could be the first ones to start selling the iPad 3 at a prorated amount with signing of a two year contract.

The most recent release of iOS 5 beta has a section supporting LTE enabled devices.
